Track 12
Every God Takes Turns
Faith, creation, and collapse rotate through the same indifferent cosmic cycle.
Every God Takes Turns is track #12 of Great Pain, Please Help Me.
Context
The central line is original to this album and is not a Rick and Morty quotation. The track draws only on the series’ broader cosmic and nihilistic themes.
Lyrics
Every god takes turns, Every heaven burns. Build the world, tear it down, Crown of reason, rusted crown. Pray to chance, plead to dust, All that’s holy rots to trust. Every god takes turns! Faith collapses, cosmos churns. Every god takes turns! Blind creation never learns. Light to dark, the cycle spins, No salvation, no real sins. Every god takes turns! All beginnings are returns.
