Great Pain, Please Help Me

A metalcore concept album transforming existential, absurdist, and darkly comic lines from Rick and Morty into original songs about pain, nihilism, anxiety, purpose, self-destruction, and cosmic indifference.

Great Pain, Please Help Me is a metalcore concept album built from memorable existential, absurdist, and darkly comic lines from Rick and Morty. Portals, nihilism, anxiety, purpose, self-destruction, and cosmic indifference become breakdowns, screamed hooks, and melodic refrains.

The album was created to support a broader thought process about what art is in the age of artificial intelligence. Each track takes a compact starting point—usually a recognizable line of dialogue—and builds a new lyrical and musical world around it rather than reproducing an episode or its narrative.

Great Pain, Please Help Me was originally released as a single full-album video. It was replaced on 30 July 2026 by a public playlist of individual track videos, and the original video was withdrawn from public access.

Process and authorship

This is an AI-assisted music project by Urundgaard Sonderbar. Lyrics, concept, direction, editing, sequencing, release decisions, and final publication decisions are made by Urundgaard Sonderbar, with LLM collaboration. Music generation and synthetic vocals were created with Suno. The project does not present itself as a conventional band, conventional studio singer, or traditional instrumental performance.

The songs are transformative fan works inspired by Rick and Morty and incorporate short quotations or close paraphrases from the series. Episode provenance is documented per track. No original episode audio, musical recording, footage, or actor performance was used. The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adult Swim, Warner Bros. Discovery, or the creators and rights holders of Rick and Morty.
