Three Hats

A six-track experiment pairing optimistic, realistic, and risk-focused views of system change in matched Drum and Bass and Metal versions.

Three Hats examines the condition of a complex working system and the experience of the people trying to improve it. The concept adapts Edward de Bono’s thinking-hats approach into three perspectives: an optimistic view of what deliberate redesign can make possible, a realistic view of unfinished transition, and a black-hat view focused on risks, structural weaknesses, and failure modes.

Each perspective became one song. Each song was then produced twice in Suno: once as an energetic Drum and Bass version and once as a heavier Metal version. The paired arrangements test how genre changes the emotional weight of the same underlying assessment.
