Music For The Lost
An eleven-track modern metalcore reimagining of classic-song themes, turning familiar emotional premises into new lyrics about obsession, grief, alienation, power, survival, and loss.
Late in 2025 I had the idea for taking classic favourites as inspiration and reinventing them as modern metalcore tracks. I picked random songs I liked with no process for choosing whatsoever. The goal was to write new lyrics and not cover the originals. I wanted to write new poetry that captures the emotional tone of the original art but is fit for 2025 and the genre I picked. After writing, rewriting, updating, and settling on final versions for all songs, I used Suno v5 with a Pro subscription in Advanced mode to create the songs. My lyrics, my style prompts, Suno’s output. I also used Suno-created track cover art as well as an album cover created by OpenAI’s GPT-5. That first version was published as Reimagination and is available on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/liXByElKxm4
With Suno having updated its models and capabilities, I wanted to see whether I could improve on this first version. Over the last couple of months I was experimenting first with Suno’s Remix/Cover functionalities, only updating the style prompts slightly, but ended up creating new songs that only shared the lyrical body with the originals. This became Music For The Lost.
